Privacy Policy

Preamble: We value your trust and we take all reasonable measures to protect the confidential nature of all your information. This policy explains how we handle your personal information—including protected health information (PHI)—and how we communicate with you. We follow U.S. HIPAA rules, TCPA for texts/calls, Canada’s CASL for any Canadian contacts, and Dialpad’s SMS guidelines. Please note: even though we take all available measures to prevent the unauthorized leaking, release, distribution or dissemination of private and confidential company and patient information, we cannot be held liable for the activities of malicious actors, hackers, thieves, viruses, malware, spyware, etc. We reserve the right to change our Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy at anytime by updating it at mycaregivers.ca/privacypolicy


1. Information We Collect

We collect:

•  Contact details (name, phone, email, address)

•  Health info (medical history, care needs, insurance)

•  Payment/billing data

•  Communication preferences

We get this from you directly, referrals, insurers, or caregivers—with your consent where required.


2. How We Use and Share Your Information

Under HIPAA, we use/share PHI for:

•  Treatment (care coordination, in-home visits)

•  Payment (billing insurers)

•  Health care operations (quality checks, staff training)

Other uses:

•  Family/friends involved in your care (with your okay or if needed for safety)

•  Public health (disease reporting, abuse alerts)

•  Law enforcement or emergencies

•  Research (de-identified only)

We limit sharing to what’s necessary. No marketing without your written permission.


3. Communications & SMS/Text Terms & Conditions

  • By providing your mobile phone number, you consent to receive SMS messages from Generations At Home Healthcare Services Inc. related to appointments and customer service tickets and after-sales service.
  • Message frequency may vary.
  • Standard message and data rates may apply.
  • You may opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by replying with ""STOP"" to any SMS message you receive from us. After opting out, you will receive a confirmation message, and we will cease sending SMS messages to your number.
  • If you need assistance or have questions about our SMS service, reply with ""HELP"" to any SMS message you receive, or contact our customer support team at (604) 305-4595. 
  • Your phone number will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.We may text/call you via Dialpad for:

•  Appointment reminders

•  Care updates

•  Billing alerts


  • For marketing/promotions (U.S.): We need your prior express written consent—clear, signed or digital (not auto-checked boxes).


  • For Canada: We need express consent (written/electronic) before any commercial texts. Implied consent only for existing clients (up to two years).

All texts include:

•  Our name (Generations at Home Healthcare Services)

•  Opt-out: Reply STOP to unsubscribe (or text END, QUIT—we honor all). You’ll get one confirmation.

•  Help: Text HELP or call us.

  • We won’t send promo texts without consent. No spam—ever. High opt-outs may pause our campaigns.


4. Your Rights

You can:

•  See/review your records (access PHI)

•  Ask us to correct errors

•  Request restrictions (we’ll try, but not always required)

•  Get confidential delivery (e.g., mail instead of text)

We use safeguards (encryption, access controls) to protect data. We keep PHI only as long as needed—then destroy it securely. No selling your info.

We train staff and affiliates on our privacy requirementsto protect your data.

We may update it at anytime Check back here—changes posted online. We’ll notify you if big shifts affect consent.
